Frequently asked questions
Do I need to prepare for this course or complete any pre-reading?
No. This course is timed to run immediately following your written exam to allow you to hit the ground running for your OSCE preparation. No preparation or prereading is required. However, if you have time, it would be useful to read the most recent OSCE Fellowship Examination Report and refresh the graduate outcome definitions for each of the curriculum domains.
I've already attempted the OSCE. Will this course be of benefit to me?
Absolutely. This course will give first and repeat sitters of the OSCE exam an understanding of how to approach the OSCE with clear, accurate and reliable information from the ACEM examiners who run this course.
Is there a cost involved?
The cost for this course is $250, priced to cover running costs. It is not a commercial course for the profit of individuals. The course is fully catered, dietary requirements can be requested on the Trybooking page.
Will this course run practice OSCE's for participants?
No, this is not a mock examination. This is a course that gives you an understanding of how to approach your OSCE, and how to best prepare for your upcoming exam. Monash Health schedules a separate mock OSCE before every ACEM OSCE exam which has places available for non-Monash trainees.

Will the course be offered virtually?
Unfortunately this course requires in-person attendance. Many of the modules are interactive and immersive and won't work in a hybrid or on-line setting.
